Jewelry Making With Jeena Walkinshaw

On Tuesday, March 12 at 5:30 the Greeley County Library will host a Jewelry Making class led by Jeena Walkinshaw. She will teach us the basics of making wire wrapped jewelry. Some of her jewelry is currently on display in the Library.

Jeena has been making jewelry for over 15 years and using wire wrapping techniques for about 11 years. She will teach us the basics and we will each make a pendant. There are 10 openings for this class, with a fee of $35.00. Call the library at 620-376-4801 for more info & to reserve your spot!

If you have you own side cutters, needle nose and/or flat jaw craft pliers, you are encouraged to bring them to the class. All other supplies will be provided.

Fall/Winter Hours

We began Fall/Winter Hours on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. We are open 9:30-5:00 every weekday except Wednesday, when we open 1:00-7:00. We will continue these hours until Memorial Day 2024. We will change to Summer Hours on May 28, 2024 See you at the library!

Hours & Current Services

The library will be open Summer Hours from Memorial Day 2023 until Labor Day 2023. We have two computers available for adult patron use. The X-Box and Wii games are available for play in the teen room, and five computers are available for use by kids ages 6 and older. We have toys in the children’s room, and there are two children’s computers with preloaded educational games for children 5 and younger. We have a lot of new books, CD audiobooks, and movies on DVD for checkout which we think you and your family will enjoy. We are also able to borrow materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan. See you at the library!

Do you like listening to audiobooks? The State Library of Kansas offers a free audiobook checkout service through the Cloud Library app. If you want to start a new account, we can help you right now! You need a State Library card, which we can set up for you (also free for Kansas residents). We can help you set up the app, and we can show you how to limit the search to audiobooks if that is your preference. Want to see what books or authors we have in our library?

Our library has an online card catalog which you can use with handheld devices such as tablets and phones, as well as laptops and other computers. The URL is:

Once you are at the site you can add an icon to your home screen on an Iphone or Android phone for future use.

You can search the catalog without your library card number, but for other functions such as seeing what you have checked out, making lists, etc. you will need to sign in with your library card number and last name. If you don’t remember your library card number, give us a call, we’ll be happy to help you out!

Cloud Library App

Cloud Library is a free ebook app available to patrons through the State Library of Kansas.  It gives you access to a wide variety of books for both adults and children. There are also  audiobook titles available on the site. If you don’t yet have the app, call or come into the library and we’ll be happy to help you get started!
