The Kickoff for our Summer Library Program will be Craft Days! We will make crafts on July 6, 7, and 9 from 10:00-11:00 each day to begin Imagine Your Story – Summer Library Program 2020. We will also have reading challenges for the month of July which can be logged on the Reader Zone app with your smart phone, tablet or computer.
Registration for our Summer Library Program is available on our website under the Events and Classes tab, then Summer Reading at the top of the page. On your smart phone, click the black box by our name with three lines, then Events and Classes, then Summer Reading.
The library is currently on Fall/Winter Hours. That will change July 1 to Summer Hours. At this time adult computers are available for patron use, as are 3 of our kids’ computers. Video games will remain off for now, and toys will remain put away. We have a lot of new books and movies you and your family will enjoy, so see you at the library!
Good news! We open our doors on Monday, May 18! We would prefer that you wear a mask, as we will when we interact with you. We ask that you touch only the books you intend to check out to help us with the amount of cleaning and disinfecting we must do. You can still browse the card catalog online and contact us with your choices if you prefer that. Adult computer access is open.
If you have books, magazines, and/or DVDs that need to be returned our Book Drop is open so you can return them now. Please consider doing that so we can begin getting those materials ready to put back on our shelves. We are not putting materials directly back on the shelves when they are returned but are following guidelines from the CDC and ALA for handling of library materials.
We have opened access to some of our kids’ computers. We are maintaining space, so 3 computers are open, with one hour allowed per user. We disinfect between users.
There will NOT BE ACCESS to video games, or toys at this time. Sorry kids!
See you at the library!
Please be respectful of others. If you are under self quarantine or isolation due to contact or illness, please do not check out or return library materials during this time.
Online Card Catalog
Want to see what books or authors we have in our library?
Our library has an online card catalog which you can use with handheld devices such as tablets and phones, as well as laptops and other computers. The URL is:
The link is not active in this post so you can more easily copy & paste. On the home page of our site you can find an active link on Search the Catalog about halfway down the left side of the page under Handy Links. You can search the catalog without your library card number, but for other functions you will need to sign in with you library card. If you don’t remember your number, give us a call, we’ll be happy to help you out!
Need some free ebooks? We’ve been given permission by Sebco Books to give you access to free ebooks on their website during this time when we’re all stuck at home. I tried it on my Ipad and it worked great! It will work on your computer, laptop and even smartphone, though it would be pretty tiny on that. There are a lot of kids’ books and a few for other ages, too. Instructions: Go to Sebcobooks.com then look for the red box in the lower left corner, Bridge The School-Home & Library Home Gap! Click on the box and you will be taken to a Login page. The Login is Keepreading (no space), then the Password is sebco Click LOG IN. The next page asks for a student ID number, which is 1 Click LOG IN again and you should be in. If you have questions, call us at 620-376-4801 for help. Happy reading!
